Tijuana Mexico 2002 |
|
Now here we have a party town. Tijuana is a vibrant, fun city full of character, wonderful-friendly people and great contrasts. My friends George, Dave and his dutch boy Bekker, Christy and Jason prior to the wedding and mysel took a trip down there for a fun day. Only two hours away from Los Angeles, Tijuana is a busy town where you can go for great shopping, to have some fun and can also learn how lucky we have it in many places. Mexican people work hard and still struggle to make ends meet. You can see young children walking the streets working to survive, it is just part of their way of life. Everyone works it seems, regardless of age, size or gender, every hand is always working. The Mexican spirit is about survival and their hearts are those of honest, warm people. No place I have ever been in my travels will make you feel at home so fast, with a smile always shining, a joke ready to make you laugh, a great margarita ready to help you have fun, and food that will leave you licking your fingers. We walked from San Ysidro into Tijuana, followed by a quick taxi ride to Revolution Street....Herb Alpert's "Tijuana Taxi" ringing in my ears. |

My friend Victor has his liquor store right on Revolution Street, where he gave us some samples of different tequilas and coffe liquors. Christy open Pandora's box to find a dead dildo in it, and later on we stop for margaritas and tequila shots at Iguanas - Ranas (too much fun). If you go there, make sure to try some fresh churros from the street vendors, and don't forget to have your picture taken with a Zonky. |

For seven years I worked as a tourguide taking tourist down to Tijuana. The city has many charms and it is a great place to explore. This town has a very special place in my heart, and it is also the place many of my friends call home. |
